Two... hundredth!

As promised, a blog entry! So I finally have some time to take a breath, and write something quick. I was meant to search job-hunting again tonight, but I think that'll be delayed. Again. I find it simply too depressing and often give up after applying for one or two =( Being out in the real world after studying all these years really dampens life.

I have less than an hour to fulfill my promise of updating either yesterday or today, so I'll keep this short and sweet =D Welcoming to the family our two newest member! Nameless since the day they arrived, these two Chocobos are chirping their days away~

Letting go and breathing....

If there's anything I learn at placement, it's that the world is so much bigger than what anyone can ever imagine, and that surviving can be just so terrible to those who have been dealt a bad hand in life...

Was so drained that I was absent-minded enough to board the first train that arrived at the platform and just fall straight into a day-dream... waking up to find myself at Cabramatta rather than at Townhall before realising I took the Liverpool train rather than the one to City. Had to take the train back and managed to catch the last bus back home. Was in severe need of some cheering up so went to Azuma and got a Cheese flavored chiffon slice to chew on while waiting for the bus, but should have bought something even sweeter and sinful, like strawberry cream cake... =( Now I'm just blasting the top 30 Oricon chart into my ears and skipping any slow songs.

"Stop being so emo..."
Who knows what this post will end up being like, but I'm transporting back to Hong Kong.

Long time no see, Breakfast!

It's been ages since my last update, almost a week! Been very unmotivated this week to do anything, and it's just been one of those weeks where one finds himself/herself not getting along with anyone despite best efforts to keep things civil.

So today's short post before work will be a Breakfast! buzz post, cheat's edition once again. I realize Hong Kong posts series isn't completed yet, but it'll happen...

From Weeks 9-12, 2011
Breakfast! today is... microwave sponge cake with boysenberry jam and butter =D Yup, that base you see there aren't scones or muffins, it's a cake made in a cup.

Healthy start....

Though of course you don't see the bacon egg muffin I had before that. Giving this app one more go before I ditch it for good, because small pictures make people squint. That is bad.

So two nights ago, I had this weird dream which completely left my mind until I took the bus and it went past a store selling fishing rods, live worms etc. Imagine fishing with a spear, and those fish were huge, about half a metre in length at least, with extremely slow reaction that if you tried to spear it and missed, it wouldn't dart away, but just swim a bit away from your spear...

Then you get to try again.

Weird huh ._.

When all else fails, Fake it!

I bring you... a Lunch! recipe buzz! post~ *cheater's edition*

From Weeks 9-12, 2011

Still refusing to post buzzes on my phone because of the small picture which the app restricts me to, and refusing to pay for the app either. So this is lunch, at 4:00pm.

Rise gone down

Getting back into the roll of things, this week has been insanely busy, which is why there is lack of activity on this blog. It's been work, uni, placement, work, just like that. All proper meals were taken at Ton Ton after a long day before taking the second last or last bus back home from the city.

Anyway, saw some bad news in the food world today (though it's actually old news, I'm just, you know, always the last to know things *emo*). Rise Restaurant, the one which Chef Hideki owned, has closed down. Even the website has been taken down. Apparently Chef Hideki is taking time off from the restaurant to raise a new addition to his family. Last year, I saw from the website that Rise was closed temporary for renovations and will reopen in March, which was why I was waiting all this time to revisit it... but now I find out it's all lies! LIES!

Nah, actually, I just had a terrible day at work. Let's go back to Hong Kong for a moment.

Do I hear "more please?" You shall see random pics of Latti throughout this post, just cos she's so kyute.

Buzz! posts on hiatus

After posting the very first buzz! brunch! post a few days ago, I realised that the app where I edit the photos on my phone has gone pro and that I can only post small pics with its trial version. Not fun. Buzz! postings are temporary out of order as a result.

Anyway, I was on the bus the other day, it stopped at the traffic and there was this kid sitting in a car next to the bus. He kept opening and shutting his window because there was this dried up white bird poo stain on the window. It was a really long and big splash (not to be gross, but you can imagine it runs from near the top of the window to the bottom). The kid was obviously trying to "clean" the bird poo by pushing the window down, and back up to check if it was still there.

It was dried and really, drawing the windows up and down doesn't do anything, though I as a kid did push the windows up and down when it rained, just to see if the part where the window goes into can act like a squeegee. It doesn't. So the next thing the kid does was to reach his hand out the open window and scrap off the bird poo off with his fingers. He then held his hand really close to his face to inspect it and just when I was dreading the next moment of when he would stick his tongue out and lick it...

... the bus moved and I was deprived of the ending. Thank goodness.

So with that charming little story in mind, let's move on to food :)

Cup noodles vs salad

So I went for my first day of placement for this semester yesterday. Having to wake up early and not having any leftovers from dinner the night before, I grabbed a cup of instant noodles from home for lunch (it's my first instant noodles in a long time, I've been capped to having instant noodles only once a week... for health's sake).

Staffs tend to have lunch together in the tea room. Taking a quick poll of everyone's lunches, majority of them were salads. All green and leafy and healthy, while the smell of my instant noodles filled the room. It's a very delicious smell, and I'd hate to be the one eating salad if I had to smell the sesame oil and msg of someone else's noodles.

Actually, I'm just feeling guilty that they were all eating healthy and I weren't. No, in truth, I enjoyed my noodles, but maybe I'll have to start packing healthier lunches from now on. Peer pressure >< Tips for those wanting to eat healthy, it's pretty simple. Get all your friends and family to eat salads all day and you'll start glancing from your own cheese-laden pizza and 1L bottle of coke to their salads... eventually, you'll conform. The ultimate task is to get all your friends and family to eat salad. Good luck with that.

I digress.

Free wifi... and work

Was planning to blog last night, but fell asleep. First buzz! post of the year! Though the photo is of an already eaten sandwich and half drunk fw... Didn't think they'd have free wifi in this cafe, and I have been visiting it for years.

Everyone in the house is down with something. Parents probably caught it in hong kong, and brother caught it from them (small note to madara-imouto, icie is sick! Keep away from him! I'm safe though). I think the key to staying healthy when travelling is to bring a tube of vitamin C tablets, like berocca, with you on the plane and popping one into the cups of water the flight attendents offer every two hours or so.

I must have had about 3 tablets in the 8 hours flight between Sydney and Singapore. So far so good... Now I just gotta keep a safe distance from everyone in the house.

Yea, it's only a matter of time... T T
